IN-DEPTH CONTENT FROM LEADING EXPERTS
Complex Respiratory Disease – Approach and Diagnosis
Dr. Nguyễn Bá Tiếp from the Vietnam National University of Agriculture provided important foundational knowledge about respiratory diseases in dogs and cats. He emphasized that respiratory disease can be caused by many factors, from genetic and autoimmune factors to infection or trauma. Diagnosis should be based on factors such as medical history, clinical signs, and appropriate supportive care.
He also noted that if there are no systemic signs such as lethargy, coma, fever, or loss of appetite/anorexia, antibiotics are not necessary. In particular, collars should not be used on dogs and cats because they can easily irritate the trachea, and efforts should be made to limit activity to reduce coughing.
Upper Respiratory Disease in Cats – Specific Challenges
Veterinarian Đinh Xuân Quỳnh, Director of Cat City Hospital, provided insightful perspectives on upper respiratory syndrome in cats. He pointed out that species, environmental, and pathological factors all have a strong impact on cats’ respiratory health. Diagnosis needs to combine clinical examination, laboratory tests, and paraclinical analysis to establish an accurate treatment regimen.
Common symptoms such as difficulty breathing, coughing, and sneezing must be closely monitored in order to detect disease early and prevent complications.
Managing Chronic Respiratory Inflammation
MSc. Phạm Minh Thư from Vemedim’s R&D Center presented a topic on managing chronic respiratory inflammation in dogs and cats. Ms. Thư explained that most chronic respiratory diseases are related to viral infections and do not respond to antibiotic therapy. Therefore, the treatment goal is to improve respiratory function and strengthen the pet’s natural resistance.
In addition, Ms. Thư also introduced effective supportive treatment products developed by Vemedim such as Bromhexine Oral, Seasal Drop, Boost Immu, and many others, helping enhance the effectiveness of pet healthcare.
SPREADING VALUE, STRENGTHENING CONNECTIONS
The course concluded with practical value, not only in terms of knowledge but also by creating opportunities for members of the pet community to meet and exchange experiences. This is an important step toward promoting the sustainable development of the pet industry in Vietnam.
Vemedim is very proud to accompany veterinarians, brands, veterinary hospitals, and loyal customers on the journey to building a connected and thriving community. This event is proof of Vemedim’s commitment to continuously bringing outstanding value to its customers and partners.
