How to take care of male rabbits: The requirement for male rabbits is to mate many female rabbits and achieve a high conception rate, often reaching an average rate of over 70%. Avoid male rabbits that are too fat or too thin. Avoid overfeeding rabbits, making male rabbits lazy, poor sperm production. Male rabbits that are fed with vegetables need to add rice, corn, or beans. For male rabbits that can be fed with rice for 3 consecutive days, the conceptional results will be very good. Food needs to be rich in protein and vitamins especially vitamins A and E because they play an important role in the basis of cell and muscle tissue development. Usually, one male can mate 9–12 female rabbits. The age of male rabbits can be used from 8–12 months of age.
Age for breeding rabbits: Should be mated to rabbits at 8 months of age for male rabbits and 6 months for female rabbits. In hatcheries, the female rabbits spawn for 8 months and the male rabbits for 10 months. A male rabbit can mate 8–12 female rabbits (average 10). The length of time to use the breeding rabbits depends on the number of offspring and the health of the female rabbits. If the female rabbits give birth 5 litters/year, they can be used within 3 years, then fatten and sell for meat. As for male rabbits, it can also be used for 3 years depending on their health status and ability to reproduce.
