In 2024, Vietnam’s shrimp industry reached an export milestone of nearly USD 4 billion, an impressive growth of 15% compared with 2023.
According to a report from the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, 2024 recorded total shrimp export turnover of nearly USD 4 billion. Key provinces such as Soc Trang, Ca Mau, and Bac Lieu led the way, with export values ranging from USD 800–900 million, making a significant contribution to the country’s overall success.
In 2024, Vietnam’s shrimp industry took advantage of the strong recovery in demand and import prices from major markets such as the US and China, helping boost exports to these two countries. At the same time, Vietnamese shrimp products continued to maintain their position in traditional markets such as Japan, South Korea, and the EU thanks to their reputation and superior quality, especially value-added processed products.
In addition, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) also provided competitive advantages, expanding the market for Vietnamese shrimp in the UK, Canada, Australia, and Singapore.
