Vemedim Bovine Mastitis Infusion - Specific Treatment for Acute and Chronic Mastitis in Lactating Cattle
Each 5 mL vial contains:
Amoxicillin trihydrate........................... 500 mg
Neomycin sulfate.................................. 250 mg
Exp. qs .............................................. 5 mL
Treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating cattle caused by bacteria susceptible to amoxicillin and neomycin such as E. coli, Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.
Each 5 mL syringe of medicine is administered to one inflamed udder, once daily, for 1-3 days.
Instructions for administering medicine:
- Use a clean cloth soaked in disinfectant to wipe the teat and udder.
- Completely empty the milk from the inflamed udder.
- Dip or spray disinfectant on the teat.
- Use an alcohol-soaked gauze to clean the teat opening, starting from the farthest teat.
- Inject medicine into the teat opening, starting from the nearest teat. Empty all medicine from the syringe using one of the following two methods:
* Method 1: Break off the cap at the V-shaped notch at the tip of the syringe to expose the inner tip, insert 5 mm deep and inject the medicine.
* Method 2: Remove the cap from the syringe tip and insert the entire length of the syringe tip into the teat and inject the medicine.
- After completion, use one hand to block the teat opening and the other hand to massage the medicine upward from the teat to the udder, massaging the udder to distribute the medicine evenly.
- Dip or spray disinfectant on the teat one final time.
Note: Each syringe of medicine is used only once. Discard the syringe if any medicine remains after use.
DISCONTINUE USE
Before slaughter: 5 days
Before milking: 3 days
Dry, well-ventilated place, below 30oC, avoid direct light.
